My Trip to Berlin: Wella's "Trend Vision" Show

November was a magical month. I felt honored to be personally invited to cover Wella’s “Trend Vision” show in Berlin, Germany. I stayed at the Waldorf Hotel for five unforgettable days.

My trip to Berlin officially serves as the most exciting event in my career to date. I met so many amazing artists and people in the beauty industry (too many to count). And the talent showcased at the event opened my eyes to international hair trends and artistry. I am so excited to implement new techniques and styles on current and new clients in my own studio. Here are some fashion highlights from the show:

There were several opportunities to speak with major thought leaders in the beauty industry. I met the brand ambassadors of Wella, arguably two of the most influential people in the hair realm. Eugene—the stylist and Josh—the colorist.

Eugene is a hair architect; he envisions the most amazing, intricate runway styles for the biggest names in the fashion world. Watch my interview with him below:

Similarly, Josh creates award-winning color formulas for runway models and celebrities. Watch my interview with Josh below:

Together, Eugene and Josh produce original, cutting-edge works of art. Their personalities and techniques are both so different, but they are equally influential and inspiring!

I cannot express how blessed I felt to attend this dream-come-true show. Not only did I attend the show, but I went to so many amazing dinners organized by the Wella family. I indulged in decadent meals and engaged in amazing conversation. Every tiny detail was spectacular.

As a media cover, I was invited behind the scenes for the ENTIRE event. Wella’s “Trend Vision” show filled the main day. I met and interviewed so many of the hair contestants and watched the show up close and personal in a room filled with 1,400 people. In addition to the “Wella Trend Vision” show, I attended the Sebastian show to learn the new and upcoming trends for 2016 spring, summer, fall and winter!

Upon the show's conclusion, I went in the back room to see all the hair models up close and personal.

After meeting the models, (as though it couldn’t be more magical), IT STARTED SNOWING!!! It was so beautiful, and because I live in Los Angeles, it was a rare sight for me. The snowy evening ended with Wella presenting the awards for the gold, silver, and platinum artist in two categories: "Young Talent" and "Trend Vision." It was so amazing to attend an international show and see people from all different walks of life unite in the beauty industry. Some of the winners:

After the awards, they coordinated an amazing, too-good-to-be-true candle lit dinner. Yes, serving 1,400 people! I spent the evening eating and conversing with beauty media gurus such as @modernsalon @behindthechair @industriebeauty @hairbrained and so many more! And of course, they had an amazing party with an awesome dance floor, as well as a never-ending flow of drinks & good vibes.

I share my stories of hair and travel because I want to encourage you all to TRAVEL, EXPERIENCE, INDULGE yourself in the industry you want to be part of and proud of.

Stay INSPIRED to INSPIRE others.
